On Workers' Memorial Day we remember those who went out to work and lost their lives. This year the day particularly poignant as Covid-19 has taken too many, too early. Many of those who have died from Covid-19 are essential workers including our comrades who worked in health and transport.
As trade unionists we know that health and safety at work is a right we fight for and never take for granted. Which is why I’m demanding that the Health and Safety Executive recognise Covid-19 as a serious industrial disease – which it has shamefully failed to do so far.
